FAQs

No, I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance for treatment. Payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please reach out to your insurance company before booking to receive a better understanding of how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include outpatient mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
How much does my insurance plan cover before meeting my deductible and after meeting my deductible?
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You will receive a reminder email and/or reminder text message, ensuring you have adequate time to reschedule your appointment if necessary. Please remember to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours.

Online sessions are similar to in-person therapy in that they allow you to have private access to a mental health counselor where you can discuss your goals for therapy and work toward achieving them.
For virtual counseling, all you need is a device with a reliable Internet connection for the duration of your session. I will send you a secure link before your appointment so you can easily connect with them from wherever you are.
I recommend you choose a quiet place, private enough for you to have an open and honest conversation with your counselor without distractions and interruptions so you can be very comfortable throughout the session.

During our initial session, we will be meeting virtually and I will be utilizing what I learned from our consult call and your intake paperwork to further assess your needs. I will continue to learn more about you and we will get to know each other better. I will answer any questions you have as well as offer treatment recommendations.

I offer a limited amount sliding scale spots and would be happy to discuss this option with you in our initial consult if need be.
Benefits of Choosing an Out Of Network Provider
No diagnosis on your permanent health record: Unlike insurance-based therapy, private pay counseling does not require a mental health diagnosis for coverage.
Confidentiality: Private pay counselors often prioritize client confidentiality without the need to involve insurance companies, ensuring that your personal information remains secure and private.
Choice and Control: You have the freedom to choose a counselor who best fits your needs and preferences, rather than being limited to providers within your insurance network. This allows for a more personalized and tailored approach to therapy.
Quality of Care: Private pay counselors often have more time to dedicate to each client, allowing for longer sessions and deeper exploration of issues. This can result in more comprehensive and effective therapy outcomes.
Investment in Yourself: Choosing to pay privately for counseling demonstrates a commitment to your mental health and well-being. It is an investment in yourself and your future happiness and fulfillment.
NOTICE REGARDING THE NO SURPRISES ACT:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You will automatically receive a Good Faith Estimate upon my intake process. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
